Cristina Sanchez-Jaquez, M.D.
Dr. Sanchez serves as Medical Consultant for the Caluya Foundation. She completed medical school in the Dominican Republic, followed by a Residency in Psychiatry at Texas Tech Health Center in El Paso, Texas, and a Fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Sanchez is board certified in Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Sanchez owns NOVOTelehealth. She was the Medical Director at Pearl Health Clinic in Idaho. Dr. Sanchez is interested in promoting mental health awareness and well- being through education and the creation of a partnership between patients, their loved ones and establishing lasting relationships in the community. Through the Caluya Foundation, Dr. Sanchez supports developing outreach programs that focus on prevention, integration, de-stigmatization and inclusion with a special interest in minorities and under-served populations.
Andrea Ohman, Global Traine, Public Relations.
Before Andrea Ohman started her career in non profit work, she knew that her contributions had to leave a positive impact on community development, advocacy, and empowerment. Andrea possesses a deep passion for the mission of the Caluya Foundation and it is expressed through the energy she brings to the organization and its partnerships. Andrea studied English Literature, Intercultural Communication, and Alternative Dispute Resolution at the University of Montana, Missoula . She had a pivotal experience facilitating mediations with the Salish Kootenai tribe. She pursued the challenge of breaking cultural biases and learning to navigate conflict within various cultures. Andrea earned her Peer Support Certification in 2017 and pursued employment at Pearl Health Clinic. She embraced many roles while working for Pearl Health Clinic. She did case management. CBRS, quality assurance auditor, and training new hires in community programs. Through playing various roles, Andrea found she is most inspired by the red thread that unites our human family across the globe. In her free time.
